Sciformix Corporation Gives Back to the Community on its Founding Day with its Annual Social Impact Initiative (SII)

Sciformix successfully held its 3rd Social Impact Initiative (SII) day on May 7th, 2015 which is also its founding day. The day involved over 750 Sciformix employees, leaving their offices to volunteer their time at local charities. Employees worked at grassroots within local communities in India, the Philippines and the United States, setting up medical camps, staging health awareness drives, cooking and serving food to the underprivileged and homeless; and spending time with the elderly, orphans and those less fortunate than themselves.

Social Impact Initiative

Sciformix employees supported 24 social service organizations and charitable trusts across its global locations. At the Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, volunteers interacted with children suffering from cancer, brightened up their day with fun activities, took them out for a movie followed by lunch. Volunteers also participated in planting trees, visiting old age homes, orphanages and families living below the poverty line with organizations like Ambivali NGO, Dhanvantari Trust, LeelaPrabhoo NGO, Jhanvi Trust and the Candle Project.

In Pune, volunteer teams supported Akanksha, a school for underprivileged children, where they helped in painting and beautifying the school’s infrastructure. Tara Foundation, a school for special children, saw volunteers engaging with the children through storytelling and games, donating medicines, toys, stationary and packed food items. Other causes supported included IshaPremNiketan, Phulora, Maher and SAFOSH – all orphanages; Idea Foundation, Door Step School – that support slums and children from migrant workers; Mamta foundation – a care home for HIV infected children and; Green Hills group which involved tree plantation and related activities.

In the United States, volunteer teams supported United Way of MetroWest, the Boys and Girls Club for Hudson in Massachusetts, and Elijah’s Promise in New Jersey. The Philippines office supported a medical mission and immersion activity for 200 children in the former dumpsite of Payatas 13.
